Visit these beautiful Mexican destinations, rich in cultural traditions and folklore. Guadalajara is the home of the original Charro, tequila and the mariachi. Guadalajara is a city with magnificent buildings, murals and historical places. Pátzcuaro is a gorgeous town on the edge of a lake, with its fishermen in small boats with butterfly-shaped nets. Santa Clara is a unique town where we will observe artisans working with copper. Morelia is considered one of the Cultural Heritage of the World sites, with its buildings dating from the 16th century. San Miguel de Allende is one of the most beautiful colonial cities in the country, and is the hometown of many famous artists. Guanajuato is a real jewel of Mexican architecture, with narrow stone streets full of legends and magnificent buildings. The Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary is one of those magical, mystical places, that is going to enchanted you.

 

DAY 1: After Lunch, departure from Tucson & Green Valley to Hermosillo. Overnight in Hermosillo. Dinner on own.

Day 2: Transfer to Hermosillo airport to take our non-stop flight to Guadalajara . Transfer to Hotel Holiday Inn Historical Downtown Guadalajara for a 2 night stay. Breakfast included. Lunch and dinner on own.

Day 3: After breakfast (included) we will visit some of the most magnificent colonial buildings full of history and art; you will have a chance to visit the worldwide famous mural “The Man on Fire” by Orozco. After Lunch we will take a Guadalajara City Tour. Overnight in Guadalajara. Lunch & Dinner on own.

Day 4: After breakfast (included), check out of the hotel and we will take or motor coach to San Miguel de Allende, world famous colonial town. We will tour San Miguel de Allende with plenty time to shop around. Check in to hotel Real de Minas for a 3 night stay. Lunch & Dinner on own.

Day 5: After breakfast (included) ,we will visit Guanajuato City and Dolores Hidalgo. We will return to San Miguel de Allende for dinner. Overnight in San Miguel de Allende. Lunch included. Dinner on own.

Day 6: Day at leisure. You can visit the famous sites in San Miguel de Allende, the Gothic Catholic Church by the main plaza, the Allende Institute; or you may want to go to the market or to the little boutiques and find beautiful souvenirs of your trip. Wander around the beautiful streets and admire the colonial architecture of the houses. You may want to have your lunch in one of the coffee shops by the plaza, have a cup of tea or a Margarita!-and enjoy the colors and flavors of this magnificent town. Breakfast included. Lunch & Dinner on own.

Day 7: After breakfast (included) check out of the hotel and be ready to continue our trip to Morelia City . One of the most beautiful colonial cities of México. We will visit the gorgeous town of Paztcuaro and the Janitzio Island; and Santa Clara del Cobre where artisans work wonderful copper crafts. Check in in to Hotel Catedral for a 3 night stay. Overnight in Morelia. Lunch & Dinner on own.

Day 8: Early morning, we will visit to the monarch butterfly sanctuary.The Michoacán forest , near by Morelia ,is the winter home for millions of monarch butterflies that travel thousands of miles from Canada and United States to Mexico. The hike to the sanctuary takes about 1 hour and a half both ways; you can choose to do it on foot or ride a horse with it’s handler (about 60 minutes both-ways). Breakfast and Box Lunch included. Dinner on own.

Day 9: After breakfast (included), along with your local guide and your Tour director, let’s explore Morelia, one of the Cultural Heritage of the World Sites. Lunch and Dinner on own.

Day 10:After breakfast (included), check-out of hotel and be ready to return to Guadalajara. On our way back we will stop at the wonderful town of Tlaquepaque, where you will find beautiful artisans shops and mariachis. Check in to Hotel in Guadalajara. Farewell dinner (included). Overnight in Guadalajara. Lunch on own.

Day 11:After breakfast (included), check out of hotel and be ready to fly back to Hermosillo. And just for your information, Guadalajara airport is one of the best places for that last minute shopping. Transfer from Hermosillo to Green Valley and Tucson.
End of the journey.
